Playground

This class is for anyone who would like to move different ways, crawling, rolling, sliding, jumping, cartwheeling. It offers whole body development and awareness. We will also play quite a few partner and group games. Drawing from contemporary dance, acrobatics, capoeira, contact impro, hip hop and breakdance.

The idea is about whole body development and awareness. We will use many different partner and group games. These playful methods can develop your ability to move freely and find more flow in movement.

We will take a look at different cartwheel variations, rolls, support techniques
and basic jumps. Elements will be sequenced and we will search for transitions from one movement into the other.

I recommend wearing long pants or leggings, and a t-shirt or long sleeve t-shirt if we train indoors. The class will be held outdoors in good weather

- Locomotion, floor communication, basic acrobatic elements
- Coordination, timing, rhythm
- Strength, mobility & joint health
- Breathing & stillness
- Games and scenario based practice
- Free improvisation using these elements

Flexibility & Strength

Strength and flexibility training is part of a good foundation of movement. Here we will go over progressions to build whole body strength, moving in different planes, mastering bodyweight, utilising weights where appropriate, and developing a base to build from.

Strength is much more useful when the body has the mobility to express it, we will use a variety of methods to increase whole body flexibility, to build healthy movement patterns, and keep the body working well.

If you think you´re just inflexible and there isn't anything you can do about it, this is for you. There are many ways to gain flexibility as an adult, we go over the basic concepts and principles that you can use to actually develop over time and be more mobile. Splits, bridge, pike, walkovers...whatever you want to do, it's possible with the right method and some time.

The class will look at mobilising hip and shoulder ranges. Creating resilience in ankles, knees, hips, wrists and elbows.

This class is about movement quality. We learn the movements well, keep it challenging but doable. I want people to be healthy in the long run, strong, mobile and injury free.

- Fundamentals of training for flexibility
- Progressions towards bridge, pancake, middle and front splits
- Strength, mobility & joint health
- Active flexibility to improve end range strength
- Learn how to stretch
- Relaxation exercises

Balance

This is a class for anyone who is interested in learning how to stand on their hands, head or arms, or would like to develop their handstand, learn to press to handstand and other ways you can play on your hands. We will explore progressions to holding a freestanding handstand, give you tools you can use in your own practice and have fun playing with the freedom it can offer you to be more comfortable using your hands as feet.

We will also look at coordination and function while standing and in motion, using partner and group games, and task based training to develop holistic balance and coordinative function.

- Progressions for beginners to intermediate levels to gaining a freestanding handstand
- Building into progressions for presses and other more advanced elements
- Assistance exercises and programming for all levels, beginners to advanced
